User signals are behavioral patterns of users which Google uses to establish the rankings of your website in the search results. For instance: users click on a result in the search engines and after that, they immediately bounce back to Google. This is a signal that the website does not fit the search query of the user. Keyword research can help you discover new content opportunities, while it can also improve your existing content. Whatever shows up in the search results box has been searched for before meaning these long tail keywords could be very valuable. But remember these just give you a starting point to work off, people have Googled some quirky things so don’t think just because something shows up that it will make a good long tail keyword. Successful SEO requires a thorough understanding of the business itself. Content simply refers to the text on your homepage, your blog posts, videos you’ve produced, and any podcasts you’ve published. Focus on producing the best content you can – or pay someone to create it for you! Make it compelling, detailed, substantive, accurate and entertaining. SEO, once a highly specialized task relegated to the back rooms of a website development team, is now a mainstream marketing activity.
Understand and implement entities
For some businesses a point in the right direction is all that is needed, for others that have had an audit carried out they may just need keeping on-track. Dependant on your requirements this can range from analysis of your site and advice given over the telephone to a visit to your premises and coaching given directly to your in-house team. It becomes a nightmare for a business owner to discover that that his/her main business website has been penalized by Google. Not all declines in rankings are caused by penalties but only a fraction of those. Think long term rather than short term. Short term will get you nowhere with SEO. If nobody has heard of your brand or company name (and it’s not part of the important keyword phrases) put it at the end of the title tag. To be sure, stealing and republishing someone else’s content without their permission is a terrible practice, and doing this frequently is an obvious sign of a spammy, low-quality website.
