Ensure your images are SEO-optimised
Panda and Penguin are algorithm updates by Google, focused on serving more quality websites in their search result pages. Panda focuses on thin content and banners, among other things, where Penguin checks if the links to your website are natural links that make sense. Search engine optimization, while a very technical practice, is a marketing function—and it needs to be treated like one. If you have different sections of your site, or domains for each country, enter
each one in the relevant directories: Google Places, Bing Business Portal, or
any other directory that’s relevant to your region. The days of stuffing keywords into bad content and having it rank are long gone. Now your content needs to focus on your target persona and your keywords need to flow within the content. Type in your keyphrases. At least look at the first page (the top 10) and see what everyone else has in their description tags. Does it look like they’re being pulled from the copy on their pages?

By limiting your SEO efforts to Google, you might be missing out on some great opportunities for small business growth. Content simply refers to the text on your homepage, your blog posts, videos you’ve produced, and any podcasts you’ve published. Focus on producing the best content you can – or pay someone to create it for you! Make it compelling, detailed, substantive, accurate and entertaining.
