Is your content visible in search results?

In short, Google is looking for signs of quality, relevance and great design. At the end of the day, Google does not care about you as a content creator. You are not Google’s customer! Google’s customer is the end user who searches for a keyphrase because they want to get relevant information or find the answer to a question. Google allows webmasters to geographically target certain websites or sections of your website to certain locations and regions via Google Webmaster Tools. You can find these settings by logging into your Webmaster Tools account, looking under Site Configuration, and changing your geographic targeting in the Settings tab. Search engine algorithms are designed to detect content that was written for the sole purpose of boosting search engine traffic. The source of a link matters a great deal to how much weight it carries in Google’s algorithm. The Internet, or World Wide Web as it was once known, really is a kind of web. Websites feature links that lead to other websites, featuring yet more links leading to still more websites, and so on. Becoming a memorable part of that web will take lots of work and involve creating many links to other parts of the web, just like other websites do.

Consider a dedicated or virtual dedicated web server

A backlink is basically someone else’s website linking to you. Obviously, pages with higher page rank that link back to you give more Google Juice. When writing an article or some content for your web page, remember- ‘spices add flavour to a dish and make it more appealing to our senses. In the same way, keywords are like spices to our content. Keyword density is good but, to create rich content, there should be variety in the keywords used. I am passionate about SEO, and digital marketing more generally, but I also understand it has its pitfalls, the main one being the complex, crowded and confusing market for SEO services. Evergreen topics have long lasting value, so when looking at the trend, it should be pretty consistent throughout the year. Traditionally, these tend to be slightly more competitive, but have a much longer lifespan for being relevant. When people conduct research, they want up-to-date, accurate information. That’s why it’s important to keep content updated. Recency is becoming an increasingly important ranking factor in Google’s search algorithm and for good reason—your audiences don’t want to waste time reading dated content.

Get into Local Directories/Local Resource Lists/Review Sites

The sitemap tells search engines about all the pages on your site, even those that might not be easy to find. A sitemap is very helpful if your site is dynamic or if it has pages with images or rich AJAX that can be hard for bots to discover. It is also helpful for new sites with few links, or sites that have numerous pages not well linked. Sitemaps help search engines do a good job of reading your website and finding your site’s content. Page content refers to all the information contained in a website. Page content can be displayed as text, links, images, audio, animation or videos among other things. Take a look at your top ranking and most shared content. Is there overlap? If you’ve found a type of content that is simultaneously strong in search and frequently shared, it’s worth optimizing that content even further. SEO in Bridlington is here. Solving real customer problems is a major key to mastering evergreen content marketing. In order for backlink checkers to exist, the entire web (i.e. billions of pages) has to be crawled, regularly re-crawled and stored in a monstrous database. The costs and challenges associated with doing this are HUGE.

Monitor the evolution of your rankings

Gaz Hall, a Freelance SEO Consultant, commented: "Speaking from experience, I have often seen product manufacturers describe a product from their point of view." Similar to your title tags, meta descriptions are a simple, but highly effective way to improve your SEO. Meta descriptions are used to generate the small paragraph of text that appears below a page’s title in the search results. Never sell yourself short and never assume anyone knows your business better than you. For me internal linking is one of the most undervalued aspects of SEO, with many sites having inefficient menus and/or poor site structures. If you optimize your meta descriptions with clear and attractive extracts on what potential visitors can find on your site, it becomes easier for them to see if the information they’re looking for is on that page.

Chase down citations and local links

Make sure that the pages on your site are well-linked to each other, particularly the ones you want to appear as sitelinks – Google takes the number of internal/external links into account when judging the importance of pages for sitelinks. Over the years, SEOs have become really good at understanding keyword intent and segmenting the marketing strategy to match intent. At the end of the day, consumers want to feel like they’re always interacting with something natural and real. SEO projects require forethought and planning to obtain the best results, and SEO needs to be considered during, and incorporated into, all stages of a website development or redevelopment project. If you haven’t already I highly recommend you sign up for both Google Analytics and Google Webmaster tools. Both of them are free, and provide a wealth of information about your website, who visits it and what keywords they are using which really helps when planning/assessing your SEO campaign.

Brainstorming and Keyword Generating

While your company may have a budget too small to implement a broad range of SEO services and strategies, investing in one or two things is a great start. It is certainly better than not investing at all in internet marketing. Undoubtedly, mobile SEO is distinct from its desktop counterpart in significant – sometimes very subtle – ways. As mobile usage continues to grow, user behaviors and expectations change too. Simply resizing the desktop site for a smaller screen won’t do. The truth is that working on the search optimisation for your website is not a guaranteed source of traffic. Your target keywords should be in the H1 tag. Your H1 however can be different from the title tag. It doesn’t have to be – you won’t be penalised for having the same title tag and h1 tag for a web-page (after all, most CMS generate this automatically) – but varying the keyword phrasing of both can increase your chances of appearing for different search intents. The true goal of SEO should be to engage customers and deliver conversions, and that cannot be accomplished with the artificial tactics used in traditional SEO campaigns.
